ABOUT

“OUR HEALING VISION”

Hi, my name is Yusra. I am a psychotherapist with a license in clinical social work. Since I was a young girl, I’ve envisioned myself helping others feel “seen” and “heard” in a world where they may not have often felt this way.

Navigating through life in the U.S. as the eldest daughter in a first generation Moroccan/Iraqi family is an experience that was not represented in books, films and nearly impossible to see among teachers, mentors, and mental health professionals. I promised myself that I would create that space for others in the best way I knew how— empowering others to tell their story.

After many years of education and training, I’m honored to say that I’ve supported many clients through lifes’ complex and challenging moments by encouraging them to show up honestly and authentically. Beyond the important therapeutic skills that I teach in sessions, I learned that the most important way to support my clients was by encouraging curiosity, connection, compassion, creativity, and of course….a good sense of humor.

Asking for support requires both courage and vulnerability, which is why choosing a therapist that fits your needs is important. To assist in your decision-making process, I am offering a free 15-minute phone consultation.

When I’m not doing the work that I love— I enjoy hanging out with my cat, creating art, watching films and listening to music (especially while drinking a cup of moroccan mint tea). I enjoy exchanging film recommendations with anyone who is interested. ☺
